This quaint Union territory has several beaches: Paradise beach, University beach and Rocky beach amongst them.
The university beach located near the Pondicherry University is haunted by the students of the University, while the Rocky beach located near the French embassy and War Memorial is more of a tourist spot. Paradise beach is a little further away located on the fringe of the city, this beach is known for its serenity.
Dhanushkodi Beach:
The drive to this beach is worth the trip with the beautiful view of the seamless merging of the waters of the Indian Ocean with the waters of Bay of Bengal.
It is less than an hour’s drive from Rameswaram (around 25 kilometres) and the picturesque view is simply breathtaking. This beach is located at the southern-most tip and Sri-Lanka is a few miles away from the sea.
Puri Beach:
The Puri beach and the Konark beaches are two famous beaches in Orissa. For those city dwellers who would like a respite from their mundane city lives or time away from the northern mountains, they can hop on a train to Puri and enjoy a few hours in the sun in the beach. Pilgrims bound for the Jagannath Temple also find themselves lounging on the beach.
These are some of the famous tourist beaches located in India. They are popular because of their scenic beauty and their easy accessibility by trains, flight and road transportation.
