Rajasthan: Riding Through The Sands Of Time

A place that is all about medieval forts, the glory of the maharajas, tigers, and palaces, and never-ending array of eye-catching festivals. Rajasthan can truly be defined as the jewel that sits high and proud on India’s crown. There is nothing that I don’t appreciate about Rajasthan. Its big-ticket attractions continue to be the magnificent palaces and forts. The powerful forts seem to loom from the top of mountains. Rajasthan is truly the Land of the royals. Your camera won’t be able to ignore the spectrum and intensity of the color that lurks in every corner of this place.

There is absolutely no way that you can miss out on the majestic tigers. The bright hues of Rajasthan are easier to capture on camera. The rainbow explosion of Holi and Diwali, Pushkar’s garishly decorated camels, and Jaipur’s painted elephants are an absolute delight.

Old Delhi: A Place Where Life Blossoms

I have always found a weird sense of joy watching streets and people busy in action and that’s why old Delhi gives me a sense of calm where life is exactly like the one shown in old black and white, Hindi movies. If photography is more than just a passion for you then I sincerely ask you to visit Purani (old) Dilli. The old-world charm can be found in every corner of this place. Isn’t it a delight to sit back and watch people noisily slurp on their morning cup of joe? Don’t forget to click their happy faces with a plate of heavenly chola bhatura.

McLeod Ganj: The Land of Buddhas, Monasteries, Pines

When I talk about Dharamshala it is usually the breathtaking splendor of McLeod Ganj that I mean. Did you know this is the place where the Dalai Lama himself resides? This holy land is the home to a massive population of Tibetans, maroon robed nuns and monks. From trekking the Dhauladhar mountains to shopping for authentic Tibetan crafts, soaking in the vibe of this place, to constantly clicking away. Don’t miss out on fluttering prayer flags, old cafe’s, narrow lanes, monasteries, and everything else that makes McLeodGanj a beauty.

Alleppey: An Abundance of Beauty Within Reach

This is literally Kerala’s hub of backwaters. Alleppey is the home to a vast waterway network where you will find thousands and thousands of houseboats. The important coir city attracts several travel enthusiasts like me who find solace in the chaos of this city. I couldn’t agree more with the title Alleppey has earned – Venice of the East. The greenery fringed and graceful Alleppey is addictive in all the right ways. What can be better than gazing over the paddy fields while floating along the beautiful waters? The curvaceous rice barges, the village life, and the succulent green surrounding Kerala makes the experience of being here even more relaxing and mesmerizingly beautiful.

Khajuraho: The Living Work of Art

Khajuraho: The Living Work of Art

Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh is undoubtedly the most titillating town that has earned its name because of the stunning, erotic stone carvings. The spectacular sculptures that can be found in the temples will steal anyone’s breath away. If you are looking for a place that will put your camera to good use, then this form of temple art should definitely be on your list.

Apart from the otherworldly charisma that the World Hero Sites in Khajuraho hold, it is a quiet, little, delightful village. I have spent an entire week cycling and walking between the stunning temples. It is hard to put into words that easy-going vibe that this village has to offer. I couldn’t resist visiting the Panna Tiger Reserve either.

Travelers’ Island is what I enjoy calling Havelock Island for it is a well-deserved reputation that it has earned. An endless number of beaches tour packages that are available make it even easier to travel to Havelock Island.
