Time To Travel Through South India On A Pocket-Crunch

When the question is about planning a trip no matter how ridiculous things get (in terms of budget, workload, and everyday life) we generally face two kinds of people – one that breaks free of the shackles and visits the pre-planned destinations and those who succumb under the challenges life throws at them. Well, the good news here is I will gladly put myself in the first category. It goes without saying that summers in our country are all about the fascinating pleasure it offers for traveling. The long days, the warmth of the sun, happy faces, and everything in between continues to tempt us to join the crowd and be one with the beauty of nature. Are you ready to join me on a South India trip as I try to recreate the beauty of these mesmerizing places that are ideal for travelers and will beckon to your wanderlust soul for it can be executed on a tight budget?

Why South India?

For me, a destination can’t ever be about a place, but it is always regarding the possibility of coming across a myriad of fascinating things. And, that’s why it was South India on my travel plans this summer. This place is indeed a full-fledged conglomeration of mystery and beauty that is dotted with the essence of prepossessing glory and will take you far away from the humidity and heat. If you want to put some distance between yourself and the crowds while you continue to enjoy yourself then it is time to gallivant away following my footsteps. Indisputably unique, unfailingly beautiful, and bewitchingly tranquil these gorgeous places didn’t disappoint me, and it will do the same for you.

Ponmudi Hills: A Soul-Stirring Beauty

This place defines nature at its best. With countless things to do in South India, this hill town is endowed with tea and spice plantations. The thing that struck the right chord in my soul is the lack of tourists here. It was as if I have the power to soak up the magnificence of this awe-inspiring place and not share it with another soul. If you enjoy trekking, then this place will address those specific needs too. It has a wide range of fun and adventurous activities that you can surely give a try.

I visited the Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary, Golden Valley, and Agasthyakoodam. It is close to both the railway station and the airport. The best part about it though, there are tons of affordable yet comfy places you can crash.

Araku:-  Valley For Mountain Lovers

Oh, there isn’t any place better to wake up and smell the strong aroma of coffee. Every moment in Araku valley seemed like having glimpses of paradise. The untouched form of the place and the serenity with which it is covered is really worth a visit. This thrilling place is surrounded by mountains on all sides which will urge you to be a part of exciting and unbelievable experiences. As for me, I am going back to this blissful destination since I can’t seem to have enough of it.

Book a South India tour package and do visit the Tribal Museum, Araku Art Museum, Chaparai waterfalls, Padmapuram gardens, Coffee Museum, and Ananthagiri in Araku. Trek – Hike – Have Some Coffee – Repeat.

Coorg: Its Enticing Aura Is Hard To Resist

For me, it is without a shadow of a doubt the most fascinating landscapes in this region of India. A haven for nature enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies – this place is nestled right in the lap of Mother Nature. The stretches of emerald landscapes will truly be a treat for sore eyes. The first day of the trip was all about coming face to face with the untamed wildlife.

Do pack your hiking shoes for it will come handy here and visit the Mallalli falls, Talakaveri temple, Namdroling Monastery, and the coffee plantations here.

Hampi: The City Of Ruins And Temples A carnival of spectacular carvings. A fantasy world of jaw-droppingly stunning ruins and rocks. This is how I would remember the magnificent ruins that I came across. Who knew that even unearthly landscapes can be so captivating? The heaps of massive boulders are perched precariously over the vast stretches of undulating terrains. The rusty hues stand in contrast with the jade-green paddy fields, palm groves, and banana plantations. I took two days to see the world-renowned World Heritage Site.

Following the footsteps of other travelers, I reached the infamous Hampi Bazaar. A beautiful village that is packed to the brim with restaurants, shops, and lodges. The tranquility of the Virupapur Gaddi and the majestic charisma of the Virupaksha Temple make this a popular hangout location.

Pollachi: An Offbeat Destination That Tourists Often Overlook

Located in the southern region of Coimbatore this place is blessed with pleasant weather and striking views. I did something I have never done on a trip before and that is climbing on top of an elephant. Though the constant fear of being thrown was overpowering it was still subdued by the exhilarating sensation that the views had to offer. The vast stretches of forest, the wide variety of life, and the never-ending glamor of the place had me hooked.

Your itinerary should definitely include places like the Palani temple, Crocodile Park, Valparai, Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, and Aliyar Park. Wildlife Safari is a must here.

Vattakanal: Little Israel Of India

Vattakanal was on top of my offbeat travel destinations in India for a very long time. The unmatched views, the delightful ambiance, and the overall feel of this place can soothe every weary and tired soul. This trip will not only boost your dying energy level and spirits, but will cost nothing in comparison to the beauty it holds.

From spending hours at a stretch to walking down the mesmerizing trails and trekking there wasn’t a moment to spare for me. On the last day of the trip, I rushed through these two amazing places here – Dolphin Nose and Vattakanal Shola Tree Nursery.
